Elite Sire and Doe
| The ADGA Sire Development Program (ADGA-SDP) is a computerized mathematical screening of all young bucks, generated when they are registered. Those bucks with sufficient available production and type appraisal pedigree data are evaluated to determine their relative genetic worth. Data is also collected on the sires and dams for production and type.
These animals below are considered to be in the top percentage in the nation for these factors. You can learn more about this program by going to the ADGA website. |
Milk Breed Leaders
| The prestigious does listed on the ADGA Top Ten lists are Oberhasli that have excelled in milk production for at least one of three cateogries: pounds of milk, pounds of fat and pounds of protein. Each year’s official ADGA Top Ten lists can be found below. |

Linear Appraisal
Each year breeders across the country apply to have their goats evaluated by Linear Appraisal. This tool provided by ADGA allows breeders to have a "second opinion" on the quality of their animals as judged against the IDEAL animal. The Appraisers are judges that are familar with the traits and characteristics of the IDEAL dairy goat. There are four final categories that receive letter scores (E thur P) and the animal is given a final rating score. The following year listings show Oberhasli owned by OBA members that have been Linear Appraised.
LA Scores
National Show
Each year, the American Dairy Goat Association holds a National Show giving breeders from across the country the opportunity to showcase their finest animals. Hosting groups bid on the chance to hold the National Show, so the location changes every year.
