The Oberhasli Breeders of American was founded approximately two years before the Oberhasli was accepted into the American Dairy Goat Association with their own herdbook in 1977.

The OBA worked very to develop the breed standard, the description of what an oberhasli should look like. They also developed the many programs that the club offers today.
