Pictures to use for discussion

This method of obtaining information was used during the first Breed Standard Committee (BSC) discussion.  It was found to be both informative to people as well as giving the BSC information they needed.

Below are pictures of both alpine, to show the chamoisee color, as well as oberhasli.  Some have good color and some don't.  There will be three question below each picture to answer.  All pictures are used with the owners permission.

First. Is this an alpine or an oberhasli.  Some are very clear which is which.  A couple are harder to tell.

Second, does this animal have proper color.  All these animals are chamoisee or black.  Even if it is an alpine, the body color is what we are looking for.  This will help to put the boundaries on being too light or off color.  At this point the marking do not count on body color.  So if the alpine has white legs or a spot on it's head, these should not be considered.  They will be covered in the next question.

Last is the markings.  Do they have the required marking to be an oberhasli?  Are they black or off color?

Please let your opinion known.  Take this poll and submit it.  Your name or identification will not be known by anybody.  So feel free to let us know your thoughts.   Color is the hardest thing to describe.  Maybe this will help to identify some problem areas.
